Haleigh Cummings ~ Satsuma, Fl ~ Missing Since February 9, 2009
Haleigh Ann Marie Cummings was last seen at 10:00 pm Monday, February 9, 2009, in a bed at her home on Green Lane, in Satsuma, Florida. Haleigh lived with her father, Ronald Cummings, his 17-year-old girlfriend and babysitter, Misty Croslin, and her 2-year-old brother. The last person to see Haleigh was her father’s girlfriend, who told investigators that she last saw Haleigh in her bed, which was a mattress on the floor in her father’s bedroom.
Haleigh’s father was reportedly at work Monday working a 12-hour nightshift. His girlfriend and son were supposedly the only other people in the house when Haleigh apparently disappeared. Croslin told police she put the children to bed around 8:00 pm. She further stated that when she awoke at 3 am to use the bathroom, Haleigh was missing and the back door of the home was open. Key people involved with the case have been given polygraphs and although the persons say they “passed 100%”, law enforcement is not stating anyone passed or has been cleared.
Ronald and Misty called 911 at 3:27am on February 10th. At first, Misty stated Ron got home at 3:00 am, which leaves a 27 minute wait before calling them. Misty stated she tried calling Ronald several times before he got home and there was no answer. No phone records have been released yet to confirm this.
William “Cobra” Staubs, a private investigator and bounty hunter who has been trying to locate Haleigh, stated that Ronald captured on survellience video at a convenience store at 2:30am – 5 minutes from the trailer. No video has been released to verify and no one has really verified if Ronald’s shift ended prior to 3:00am that morning. If Ronald’s shift did end early and he was at the convenience store at 2:30, there is another 25 minutes of time unaccounted for since he allegedly didn’t get home until after 3:00am, by his report to detectives.
The 17-year-old called 911 for help when the girl’s father, Ronald Cummings, came home:
911: “911, what’s your emergency”
Misty Croslin: “Hi…umm…I just woke up…and our backdoor was wide open and I think…and I can’t find our daughter”
911: “you can’t find what?” Misty Croslin:”our daughter”
911:” OK, what’s your address? Misty Croslin: “(inaudible)”

911: Ok…the back door…listen to me…your back door was wide open…what are you talking about a brick?”

Misty Croslin: “How tall she she? Like long hair like curly…with curls..
911: “long curls…what color?”

911: “OK, listen to me…listen to me…we’ve got two officers…”
Ronald Cummings: “if I find whoever has my daughter before you all do, I’m killing them…I don’t care- I will spend the rest of my life in prison….you can put that on the recording…I don’t care.”
911: “It’s OK sir, we’ve got them on the way…ok- can you give me…what kind of description of pajamas was she wearing? “
Ronald Cummings: “I don’t f%$ know!”
Ronald Cummings: Father of Haleigh. Cummings worked the night shift at PDM Bridge Corp. from 3:00 pm until 3:00am. Ronald stated he locked the door before he went to work and left Haleigh with his girlfriend, Misty, and Ronald, Jr. Putnam County Sheriff’s office said there were no signs of forced entry. Ronald stated he got home and saw Misty standing in the doorway on the porch and asked her what she was doing up because she is never up at that time. Within a month after Haleigh disappeared, Ronald married Misty in March. Accusations are flying around: Child abuse; fight over a gun; drugs; strong arming drug dealers. Attorneys: Kimball and Snyder
Misty Croslin Cummings: Stepmother to Haleigh. Misty allegedly changed her story several times. Reportedly, she has been interviewed by law enforcement at least 10 times. Croslin stated after putting Haleigh to sleep about 8pm, she was doing laundry, which was right by the back door. She said she knew the door was locked when she went back in the bedroom. Croslin said she put a blanket on Haleigh around 10:00 pm and laid down beside her. It’s unclear whether Croslin left the bedroom prior to Haleigh missing.
Misty said she woke up at 3:00am to go to the bathroom. Mistly claimed, “I didn’t make it to the bathroom. I seen the kitchen light on, and I walked in the kitchen and the back door was wide open. I go in the room, and she’s gone.” Haleigh supposedly wore a pink shirt to bed that night but the shirt was later found by Misty in the dirty clothes by the back door.
Allegations: Misty was not home at the time of the disappearance but law enforcement has been unable to verify. Misty went partying with her friend Nay Nay the Friday prior to Haleigh disappearing and “hooked up” with a guy named Greg “White Boy” Page. Per Nay Nay and White Boy, Misty was doing drugs and had sex several times with him for the next two days.
Unclear: When did Misty returned to Ronald’s trailer. Misty was seen by witnesses driving a blue van on several occasions. The morning after Haleigh disappeared Misty is the one that noticed the van had been moved and the headlight was broken. She also noticed a big scratch down the side of the van.
Joe Overstreet: Misty’s cousin visiting from Kentucky right before Haleigh’s disappearance. Misty stated she did not trust him and accused him of sexual inpropriety; basically trying to put the blame on him.
Crystal Sheffield: Haleigh’s biological mother. Crystal lived out of town at the time of Haleigh’s disappearance. Crystal and Ronald were never married, and Crystal did not have custody of Haleigh and Junior. Crystal and Ronald were together since she was 14 years of age and until 2005. There are allegations of drug usage by Crystal, but according to some close to the case, tests were negative for drugs. Attorney: Kim Pacazio
There are more key people in this case, but too many to mention here Also, there are many issues between the two families and within the families. Some hate Ronald and there are those who hate Crystal. What we all agree upon is that Haleigh Cummings is missing and needs to be found.
Leads have trickled to very few. No one seems to be talking and law enforcement is having a hard time trying to figure out who is involved. The wheels of justice are definitely turning very slow in this case.
Who is responsible for the disappearance of Haleigh? Is it the last person to see Haleigh alive? Ronald Cummings states the allegations of drug use is false, so evidently not a case of a drug deal gone bad. No ransom was ever demanded and there is a sizeable reward for Haleigh’s return. What would be the purpose of taking Haleigh?
Allegations have surfaced that Haleigh was taken by a family member and is hidden in another state. How could a family member take her and hide her for this length of time and not be found out? Not only would they be disrupting their lives, but quite a few around them.
Where is Haleigh Cummings? Someone, somewhere knows something.
